At the outside edges of the seedheads add small clusters of short, feathery strokes. For the white speckles squeeze the masquepen so it leaves small splotches in places. You can also mask out the stem of the dandelion at this stage.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

While you wait for the masking to dry, make very strong mixes of your chosen background colours. You'll be working quickly wet in wet, allowing the colours to blend, so it's essential to have your paint ready. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Check the masking by touching it gently with your finger, if it's dry you can then spray the paper, wetting all of it. Start to add colours, allowing them to spread onto the seed heads, but not letting them reach the centres.

Use the tissue to blot some of the colour from the clocks, so it's lighter in the middle than round the edges, giving a cloudy effect.
